BB2 HD Drum Sets?

Both the BB(original) and the new BB2 appear to have the same audio specs, 24bit/44.1kHz per the manuals. Supposedly HD audio is either at a higher bit rate or more likely a higher sampling rate than 24bit/44.1kHz. How does the BB2 achieve HD audio drum kits if it may be possibly limited to what the spec of the audio playback design is?

With the BB(original) a user could build his own drum kits using WAV files. With the BB2 what are the requirements of the audio files so as to create BB2 HD drum kits if BBMO is capable of doing so?

Admittedly I don’t have a good grasp of HD audio and I’m trying get a better understanding of how it works in the BB2 vs the BB(original) that seem to have the same audio specifications.

“HD” is just a label we made to describe the higher definition of the kits that comes with having larger kits, we have more samples per velocity layer and sometimes more velocity layers too.

This makes the drum set sound even more realistic and gives you granular control over the timbre of the kit by setting the velocity.

Lossless 44.1kHz, 16bit wav files can already be considered HD, HD is relative there is no defined parameter for what HD stands for in audio quality.
