A small workflow request. Let’s say that I’m revising a song in BBMO. The steps I currently take are:
In the Songs tab, click the Intro region to highlight it.
In the MIDI editor, click the trash can to delete it.
In the Songs tab, re-click the Intro region to highlight it again.
I have to do this because the Song tab automatically SWITCHES to a different part of the song after I delete the region.
In the MIDI editor, click the folder to load the replacement Intro region.
It would be faster if the work flow was:
In the Songs tab, click the Intro region to highlight it.
In the MIDI editor, click the trash can to delete it.
The Intro region REMAINS highlighted.
In the MIDI editor, click the folder to load the replacement Intro region.
I’ve caught myself accidentally changing other regions because I forgot to re-select the region I was just working on.
Also, is there a better way to show or see the “Play For” and “Bar Count” information. Admittedly, I’ve only be programming custom beats for a few months, but I have frequently caught myself making programing errors because those numbers don’t match. All of my MIDI is created in Logic Pro, then imported into BBMO.
Are you referring to the Autopilot side of the BBMO? If so, you might want to illustrate the issue for Support, support@singularsound.com with screen shots or a short video.
Either way, if you need more help, you can reach out to Support for help.
Yes, I’m referring the the Autopilot function. There have been a few songs that I’ve programmed in Logic Pro, exported the regions, imported them into BBMO, and have been train wrecks once they are in the BeatBuddy. It’s a user error on my part as they all had “Play For” and “Bar Count” incorrectly set. It’s more of a graphic user interface issue and not a bug. Moving the “Play For” indicator down into the MIDI Editor would make a big difference. For what it’s worth, here are a few other GUI suggestions.
The bottom MIDI editor would read: Time Signature || Bar Count || Play For || (then some visual space, then) Quantize (the word, not the circle symbol being used) || Half Time || Double Time
The “+” to add a Part needs to be labelled and moved to the very top of the Song Tab. It would add another song part under the one currently selected. Then you could get rid of all of the “+” signs on the right side of the parts. Shorting the length of the Tempo slider would help.
The top of the Song Tab would read: || Auto Pilot Settings || Add Part || Drum Set || Tempo ||
