Thanks Guitar Stu and tomd100! I successfully programmed pauses and tempo changes into the BB using its MIDI note out and a MIDI Solutions Event Processor. The Event Processor can remap note-on to a CC # so I just added some notes into the song part which aren’t played (no instrument in the drum set) and also got it to send CC to my Voicelive 3 turning harmonies on/off automatically during performance! It would be GREAT if the BB manager didn’t strip CC events from MIDI files in which case the Event Processor wouldn’t be needed.

The MIDI Solutions Event Processor only has MIDI in and MIDI out (5-pin DIN). It doesn’t require IOS and is programmed from a computer (Mac or PC) with MIDI interface using the Midi Solutions Programming Software: http://www.midisolutions.com/progtool.htm

I’m tying a BB and a VL3 together with an Android tablet running BandHelper (subscription version of SetlistHelper). So far, it looks good, but I’ve only just started. Got the tablet sending MIDI to the VL3 via the MIDI-merge output mode on the BB. Have not tried sending to the BB on channel 2 yet, but see no reason to doubt. It also looks like the BB is sending MIDI sync to the VL3, but I’ve not verified it yet.
