Drum Map

When I make a drum beat on my drum recording program I use a GM midi configuration using a midi keyboard, but sometimes some of the sounds do not sound on the beat buddy. I am sure you have the drumsets mapped so that we can use the actual sounds that correspond to the midi notes? Could you post it?

The information you seek is readily available for you via BBManager - http://i.imgur.com/ktwcYKd.png.

This was discussed earlier here - http://mybeatbuddy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=443&p=1895#p1818.

Yes but it doesn’t tell me what position on my keyboard will trigger what drum sound. The latin set uses congas, but writing new beats on Cubase, I have to guess which notes trigger what sounds and I usually don’t get it right.

The BeatBuddy uses the General Midi standard for the mapping of the drum kits. Hopefully you can figure it out with the GM Drum map below.

Ok If that is the case, why will a standard drum set not play on a latin song?

Standard drumset doesn’t cover (have WAV samples loaded for) some of the MIDI notes that are used in latin songs.

But a Gm midi set should have all notes covered!

Yes, but currently BeatBuddy lacks a GM midi drum set.

Hi stredway. You can also read a bit more in the
Dan’s PercussionDLX drum kit thread about how I created a kit with a more complete GM Drum map.

I filled in lots of the note numbers that the BB drum kits are missing, and I hope BB will do the same with future revisions and drum kits.
Thanks, Dan

Ooops, it seems this precious link is no more working.
I’m looking for a silly simple BB drum kit compliant with GeneralMidi applications and the only link I have found by here across the all Forums is …broken ! I’m a BB deasappointed customer (yes, it does exist, they turn crazy when it’s time to design beats quickly with BB). The BB miracle turned a hell on MiDi beats.
Thanks to the search field and to beckerdo (see thread http://mybeatbuddy.com/forum/index.php?threads/dans-percussiondlx-drum-kit.1196/), you can get it back here : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3834471/DansPercussionDLX-101.zip
You’ll have to tuned it a little bit to make it a rock drumset…
Have fun.

Hi Gratatouille. Probably need to use this forum’s Search function with “Dan’s PercussionDLX drum kit” as the search string.

The discussion is still there as well as a working link to the kit.

But wait. There’s more. You can also search the Resources section under Drum Kits–it’s there too.

Thanks Mister Persist. I’ve got it, it works fine, I use it now as a base for my GM rock drumkit with bass.
Cool.

Salut Gratatouille, I am also a great believer of GM compliant drumsets, but we have just few here among the resources, maybe if you start sharing yours, GM can take more space here…
