is there a feature that allows you to go backwards on the main drum loops? For example, can I transition for main drum loop 2 back to main drum loop 1 without having to restart the song?

You could use a midi command to go to the previous part, using something like the midi maestro.
Alternatively you could edit the song so there are only 2 parts. This means the BB will transition to part 1 after part 2 naturally.
You could also edit the song so you add a copy of part 1 after part 2 (so it becomes part 3).
