Are you trying to connect via the Android OS? Or the app directly? The correct way to do it is in the app directly. The Android OS doesn’t give the app control, and will disconnect after a few seconds of non-contact.
But maybe I misunderstand: ARE you trying to connect using the Android settings?
In honour of @iajrz’s great work updating and expanding the app and @BrennanSingularSound’s support, and in recognition of all the much-smarter-than-me people who have jumped into this thread to contribute brilliantness, I have decided to change the name of the thread.
Just so you good people know. I got the BLE thing working. Turns out I hadn’t updated my firmware. So slightly embarrassing, but the good news is , it works great. If any of you have a Katana amp, you can use it with the Katana Librarian Android app.
It’s been a while since I posted - in the meantime I have almost every command now working on my MM … the thing which is missing still is to program Accent Hits … does anyone know how to program those with the MM app? Is it possible yet?
… also another oddity: scrolling up or down triggers scrolling up/down by 2 folders/songs … strange thing this one … I’m using CC119,1 and CC119,0 as suggested …
Accent hit:
It is, at least according to the manual/spreadsheet:
CC-110 [0-127]
Triggers an accent hit with a volume from the value 0 (mute) to 100 (original recorded volume) to 127 (amplified more than the original recorded volume)
I’m pretty sure the song must be playing for this to work.
Cheers @JoeInOttawa, but how do you assign specific Accent Hits, i.e. Clap, Kick, Snare etc … with the MM/BB default program the accent hits are playing even without the unit playing …
Try the BeatBuddy default mode on the MM & go to Accent Hits & press Clap, Snare etc. - it is playing on my MM/BB without the BB playing … @iajrz, can you please chime in? Many thanks.
You are correct. Assign a note on to the spund that your want to have for an accent. Example: Kick is 36. Check the midi number for the sounds by opening the drum kit in the BBM Drumset maker window.
Hi @iajrz and @BrennanSingularSound, one thing is still not right yet - as mentioned earlier: the folder/song scroll command still steps up/down by 2 folders /songs… anyone else came across this oddity yet?
Can someone at Singular Sound explain why they cannot design a Windows app for the Midi Maestro. C# has libraries that support Bluetooth so it should be possible. This constant fooling around with “toy” operating systems is getting rather tedious. The Android app only works on certain devices, and the IOS app is nowhere to be seen. I purchased the MM 9 months ago but I still have to use the main pedal
for a fill. It is really only good as a paper weight. /rant
Most Windows computers do not support Bluetooth Low Energy, though, while virtually all Android devices and iOS devices for the last seven years or so do.
There’s a closed alpha of the iOS app running, and we’re closing in on the general availability release.
