Definitely stay in touch with support@singularsound.com, if you haven’t already reached out. They will be able to help you best in the situation, thank you.
generous support at singularsound sending recovery SD card, I have tried few cards myself and didn’t work, should the BeatBuddy screen light up with out the card inserted?
All the gear no idea
If the pedal is working correctly, it lights up without an SD card.
Unless the pedal is damaged, applying the recovery instructions usually restores a pedal to a proper working state.
Please make sure to follow support’s instructions when you insert the card, follow them to the tee!
And if there’s no written instructions accompanying the SD card,
- make sure the power to the pedal is off and
- then insert the SD card;
- plug the pedal in and allow the firmware update to complete
- do not interrupt the power or remove the card It should take less than a minute to complete.
If the pedal lights up, you should be back in business. If the display does not light up,
- unplug the power to the pedal,
- let the pedal sit for 5 minutes (time for a pint?) and then
- power it back up
- If it still does not light up the display, it won’t hurt to contact Support because even if it’s out of warranty, you never know…
Last things, assuming your pedal is now functional,
- put the recovery SD card away as you may need it again some other day.
- check the pedal settings to see what version of the firmware is on your pedal. If it’s not 3.80, you might want to update it.
Hi there, thanks everyone for your time, as soon I get the card will let you know, fingers crossed, can’t wait to see this pedal heart beat again.
hello, got the new card today thanks to singularsound support, inserted card and the screen it’s alive again, I have removed the card and checked the firmware is 3.8.0 so it’s updated ok, not sure what to do next, download firmware to a new card???
Lock the recovery SD card and mark it as Recovery as you never know when you may need it again (consistent with what I said in my post, above).
If you have a project on your new SD card, power the pedal down, plug the card in and power up the pedal. It should work as the firmware is loaded on the pedal already.
If you don’t have a project on the card, put it in your computer slot reader and use the BBM File - File - Export - Project to SD card.
the original SD card that came with the beatbuddy is not readable , I’ve inserted it to the computer not readable and inserted to the BB and just says on the screen NO SONG ( all the gear no idea)
Hi persist, will try to download BBmanager and let you know, wish me luck
Fixed, created new backup SD card , inserted card to BB and it started working straight away, thank you very much everyone, I have now a recovery card and a spare backup card just in case.
Kind Regards
