When I purchase an existing song by a group to cover, I can manipulate it just like a normal one, correct? For instance, if I want the chorus to go longer, or my band shortened a part and only wants to do a chorus part once instead of twice, I can use the pedal to make the change when I want, correct?

If you are using the pedal to change parts and using fills, you can stay in that solo groove forever if you want and move on when the time is right.
