In the next Aeros 5.4 users manual, can there be a chapter dedicated to the Super Switch functions, most importantly, the (song commands) settings, with a detailed description of all the options that are available within that section. I feel a dedicated chapter on all of the options available within the (song commands) option and possibly all the categories within the Super Switches setting abilities will give users new and old a much better understanding and a dedicated section within the manual to refer back to for learning all of AEROS’s options and recording capabilities.
Maybe I had a misunderstanding of what the Super Switch abilities had when it came to handling the AEROS. I thought that I would be able to program the super switch to perform the same functions as the AEROS buttons do. As if it was the buttons on the AEROS. I am finding that delegating specific buttons on the Super Switch correlate with specific commands with the AEROS such as start, stop, record new part, record new track and opening up windows of sorts, but outside of that type of specific commands it’s seeming quite limited. such as setting a button to open up the mixer doesn’t allow you to exit out of it. Are these features that the Midi Maestro would handle on a 100% better cohesive level? Would the Midi Maestro allow me to use that device to replicate all the functions in real time as It would on the AEROS. As if I was pressing the buttons on the AEROS?
The Super Switch IS NOT a MIDI controller and therefore it is not programmable like the buttons on the AEROS. It can only trigger specific commands such as start, stop, record new parts, and open windows, etc..,but cannot handle more complex functions or allow navigation beyond assigned commands. In contrast, the MIDI Maestro offers much more advanced and coherent functionality, enabling you to reproduce all the real-time functions of the AEROS as if you were pressing its buttons directly. The MIDI Maestro supports full MIDI programming, providing hands-free control over multiple actions, making it far superior for live performance setups with the AEROS.
I am seeing that. Thank you. It is really amazing as I’m learning all of this. How SS can actually get all this to work. There’s so many things that have to happen and work together for everything to actually do what it’s doing. It’s kind of mind blowing.
Yes that’s the way to go. I’ve been trying to avoid having another device to have to plug into my. Electrical but I guess it’s how it has to be.. let me ask you. I tried a bunch of arrangements on connecting everything together and what I ended up with is the Beat Buddy (Master) going into the mixer on inputs three and four. Aeros into inputs five and six and instrument plus effects going into inputs seven and eight of the mixer with auxiliary sends A left and right of the mixer going into the in’s of the Aeros to allow for instrument with effects (7&8) to pass through the Aeros. Miles worth of cables later it all seems to work. but is this the best arrangement?
I think what Dakota is referring to is something that dynamically changes the FS actions based on what’s displayed on the screen, just like onboard footswitches do.
But that’s something the MIDI Maestro can’t do either. It’s just an input controller, so there’s no real synchronization between what’s happening on the screen and the controller, nor is there bidirectional communication between them.
But I think what Dakota is asking for is something much simpler that could be done: a new assignment consisting of “Replicate FS1”, “Replicate FS2…” And it could work on both the SuperSwitch and the FootSwitch+ (and with both Aeros and BeatBuddy) with the sole purpose of being able to do with your feet exactly what you would do with your hands, when the machines sits on the desk.
yes Thank you. I think that’s exactly what I was trying to get at. Simply controlling the actions that are happening in real time on the screen, like It would on the AEROS buttons if the right button on a AEROS’s action states (overdub) or (record) or (play) etc , I should be able to assign one of the six PEDALS on the Super Switch to replicate what the AEROS would do with that button by just pressing it again. The middle button might says (next track) on the AEROS and there is a setting on the Superswitch to switch to next track so that works, but the first button might say (next part) and the only option on the Superswitch is (record to next part) and that does not preform same action as (next part). Also on the Aeros, the (Start/Stop all) button to the left of the AEROS screen is one press for (play) and another press for (stop). Why couldn’t one button on the Superswitch be capable of press once for start and again.for stop just like that button on the AEROS does. I understand why an action like press and hold might not work on the Superswitch to replicate that action on the AEROS, maybe that’s not something the Superswitch could do. And I’ve mentioned this before but one of the buttons on the Superswitch can be assigned to pull up the mixer on the screen, but you get stuck in the mixer screen unless you exit out of it on the actual AEROS. Thank you for your contribution to this post Ed.
Hey yes I was interested in the superswitch too but maybe not so after your post
Basically I was hoping it would have a dedicated stop start and mute/undo mute buttons
The aeros mute is cumbersome The press stop and start has its own issues
Im astounded the singular sound have missed the beat on this. They must not use the aeros live
I like both the BB2 and the Aeros. I am not loosing faith that a firmware update could tweak the options for the Superswitch.
I It does say in the promo that you can record mute and unmute seamlessly. But from your post it sounded like the mute function still involved using the mixer menu??. it
Hi,
This is definitely achievable! If you send an email to support@singularsound.com, I’d be happy to help you set this up.
Singular Sound is the best
