Im trying to learn how to best utilize Aeros with the BB2. My scenarios would be using it in live song performance or building a full song while writing and perhaps general practice. Right away I notice that if both midi cables are plugged in the New BB2 Acts very strangely and bpm goes way high and gets glitchy in responsiveness. IF using bb2 as master with only midi out from bb2 to midi in on Aeros things work ok. Is there no reason to have both midi cables connected at the same time ? Is this a bug ? I also am curious about the behavior of aeros and my options. When I start bb2 it plays intro and goes into recording a track on the 1 at the end of the intro. So Far so good. However, If I transition to a new part on the BB2 it doesnt trigger a new part or track to record in the Aeros. It would seem nearly impossible to start a transition on BB2 then switch to a new part in sync. I really wish there were more instruction on utilizing the bb and Aeros together. It would seem like there should be some bidirectional midi communication between the two. Maybe there is and there are some settings I dont understand.
Look into your settings. I got my bb2 to work with my aeros first day.
care to elaborate a little ? Ive been in settings trying to figure things out. I can connect both midi cables without bb2 going wonky either.
We’re working on creating more videos showing how to use the BB2 and Aeros together, which should help clarify some of the behaviors you’ve noticed. In the meantime, if the issue with MIDI connections or synchronization persists, please don’t hesitate to email us at support@singularsound.com so we can assist you directly.
I followed the BB2 manual, plugging MIDI out from MM into BB2, BB2 midi out into Aeros. What are you using with the MIDI in?
Im not using a midi maestro. just BB2 and Aeros
I too am really struggling to get the BB2 to interact properly with the Aeros. The Aeros will start and stop when I start and stop a beat with the BB2. In 2 x 2 mode on the Aeros, when I change drum part with a transition on the BB2 it seems to work ok and the part on the Aeros also changes. However, in 6 x 6 mode the BB2 changes drum parts but the Aeros stays on the same part and will not change. If i select the next part I want on the Aeros then do a transition on the BB2 then the part will change but this completely defeats the object having to change both machines independently. I have the super switch and have tried setting each button to change to a particular part to eliminate the “next part” command being an issue by changing to a specified part but no dice. I have made sure all 6 parts have at least one bar recorded on them in case there is an issue with empty parts being ignored in terms of commands but still I cannot get it to work. If anyone could shed any light on the issue I would be most grateful please and thank you.
TLDR: Need assistance to get BB2 to trigger a change part on the Aeros when in 6 x 6 mode. Thanks
Hi Koodaah,
I believe you sent me an email with this same question, and I’ve replied there. Please check that message, but if the issue is not resolved, let me know. Thank you!
Yes thank you. Your email has shattered my dreams a bit. Having to select a part on the Aeros then trigger it on the BB2 is deeply disappointing. Having options for dedicated part buttons for the super switch to BB2 that doesn’t “seamlessly Integrate” with the Aeros is not at all what I was expecting. I am grateful for the support response thank you but it’s become apparent that the singular sound model just isn’t going to work for me.
When I combine this disappointment with the lacklustre way the pre order shipping was handled and the fact I’ve still not having heard anything about fulfilment of the missing components of the deluxe pre order package, I’d have to say that all in all it’s been a highly disappointing experience indeed.
Overall as a stand alone entity the BB2 is pretty cool, I think the lack of modern connectivity in terms of WiFi or an app and Bluetooth or whatever to manage the songs does not befit the price bracket. The manager thing online is a bit of an effort though. Generally speaking the Aeros has just been a bit of a chore. I find it slow and a pain to navigate a set list. Loading a backing track on it to play to just proved insurmountable. Even after meeting all the tedious requirements for format and bit rate etc it was still hit and miss if it would actually play consistently without loud clicking or not. Songs just randomly delete themselves back to blank and no option to delete a track individually is so ridiculously infuriating that when you make a mistake and don’t put it right straight away you have to delete the whole song to start again from scratch just makes it miserable. And yeah sure, I could get better or expect less or learn to play or maybe the equipment is too advanced for me or whatever but with all things considered for a grands worth of kit I am really, really disappointed, which is fairly disappointing to report.
I’m Sorry I feel this way. I really am.
