Aeros Loop Studio - Quick part change conundrum

So, you have a two measure part (A) and you want to record a second one measure part (B). Easy enough. But once you are finishing up that second part (B) how can you quickly revert back to the first part playing (A)? On the Boomerang it is as easy as pressing the (A) part button again, which simultaneously stops the recording of (B) and starts playing (A). On the Aeros I am finding no easy way to do this, and definitely not quickly.

Is the solution to this in the Maestro, and even then is it possible to assign those extra buttons similar to as the Boomerang?

This Aeros Loop is pretty damned sexy and robust in features so I’m pretty sure I’m overlooking something if my jurassic Boomerang can do this.

Hey there,

Are you not able to press the next part button while recording p2 to go back to p1?

Do you need to hear part 2 play back at all, or do you want it to switch back without hearing it play back?

Thanks, great question.

I don’t want part 2 to repeat immediately after playing it. I want part 1 to play immediately after having played (and recorded) part 2.

For in the song the part 2 (chorus) would’ve been played and then gone back to the part 1 (verse). If part 2 played immediately after it was played/recorded that would make a double play of the chorus which makes no sense.

And I need it to work this way on the 6x6 mode as well as the 2x2.

In 2x2, you would do what I described

  1. Record part 1
  2. Switch to part 2
  3. While recording, switch back to part 1 using the next part button

This will commit the recording in part 2 without hearing part 2 play back.

In 6x6, this is less easy because of how the Aeros switches parts when using the Next Part button in 6x6, and you would need a MIDI controller or a SuperSwitch to accomplish this.

  1. Record part 1
  2. Switch to part 2
  3. While recording, switch back to part 1 using the the MIDI part 1 command (CC:113 value 101) or using a Previous Part/Part 1 command on the SuperSwitch
