It would be great if there was an option to capture notes that are ahead of the measure, for riffs that lead into the beat rather than start on it.
It could work if the recording starts as soon as you hit the switch, but the playback point remains the first measure after that, anything played before that point gets added to the overdub layer.
it would sound good and natural whilst looping, might sound a bit abrupt when switching between parts as those lead in notes wouldn’t be there on start, but that could be covered by playing that transitions with those notes before the part starts
