Assign input to specific track

I would like to assign any input to a specific track, the way Headrush Looperboard does. That way I can keep the mic open, and it will only record when that particular track is recording.

I know we’d like to do this but we have not explored it yet, so I will tag med-long term and under consideration, thank you for your feedback!
