Autoquantize: How to end recording of 1st track of 1st part and immediately being recording 1st track of 2nd part?

Just picked up a Aeros (again) with a hope that most of the launch kinks have now been ironed out. I’ve hit a major issue however. I cannot work out how to transistion immedidately from recording the 1st track of the 1st part to recording the 1st track of the 2nd part.

I would assume whilst the 1st track of the 1st part is recording tapping the (green) “SELECT PART” / left footswitch would allow one to target the new part but in this context the footswitch doesn’t do anything. Holding the footswitch does nothing either.

This issue is present in both 2x2 and 6x6 modes.

Even if I change the “AUTO SONG PART CHANGE (6x6)” setting to “ON” which changes the colour of the “SELECT PART” / left footswitch to red in this context (indicating that it should immediately start recording of the 2nd part), it also does nothing.

Is this a bug in the firmware?

NOTE I am using RPO mode.

Aha, if I turn off auto-quantize then the button behaves as expected. So I think the bug is related to AUTO-QUANTIZE.

It is not a bug, autoquantize requires you to commit the recording for the tempo to be calculated, this limitation prevents more serious bugs from occurring. We cannot easily switch you to a part immediately while also immediately calculating the tempo. It is not magic it is just a looper,

Thank you for your feedback, but no further action will be taken on this unless several people see it as a critical function and then we may consider reopening the potential new behavior

Thanks for the prompt reply @BrennanSingularSound, you explanation totally makes sense. I guess what threw me was the fact that the SELECT PART button is not greyed out, but is either green or red (depending on the “AUTO SONG PART CHANGE (6x6)” setting) which suggests it should do something. Perhaps thats something you might consider fixing?

For my purposes I think all is well because in most instances when I need to immediately record the second part I’ll be inputting a MIDI clock and therefore the time signature is known. I’ve tested this and it works as expected

I can’t help wonder if there’s any reason the Aeros couldn’t just drop into Freeform mode if a user did attempt to record a second part and the tempo wasn’t yet known?

Again, appreciate the support
