Hi,
I feel like this is a bug, but there isn’t anything that specifically says how it should work, but if enable Note OFF in BB2 Midi (didn’t check my BB1 for behavior), if I trigger a drum sample externally, and send a note off, it chokes the note, even though the instrument is percussive. The BBMO manual states:
“Instruments are either Percussive or Non-percussive. Non-percussive instruments respect the Note Off command while percussive instruments play the entire file one time through. Non-percussive instruments will choke the sound when the note off is received.”
This appears true for a midi part in a song files, but if you send midi externally, it chokes the percussive instruments if note-off is enabled in the settings. The help on the device says as much, but this seems like it should be consistent with the loaded midi files.
My use case is sending midi to the BB2 from my DAW for testing songs, drum kits, and for recording. For regular percussive drum kits, the default is fine, but for pianos, bases, etc, which the BB2 now has space for, those need notes off enabled to get a consistent behavior between the DAW midi, and the songs themselves.
Request is to make the note-off behavior consistent between the midi files and the external midi.
Thanks
