Hi,
I’m trying to lower the overall dB level of an instrument in my kit, but it seems like it’s only affecting the preview audio output, not actually lowering the volume of each sample. When I save the project and sync to SD to play it back on BB, the level is the same as if I hadn’t changed anything.
Is there anything I might be missing? Or is there another way to change the volume so the instrument plays quieter after saving the project and exporting to SD? Thanks.
You need to save the drumset after changing the levels, but that will change the drumset levels for all songs that use that drumset. Best practice would be to copy the drumset first, rename it, and then save the kit with levels for a particular song.
By “save the drumset,” do you mean export? I’m not finding any way to save a drumset specifically, just save project.
If you click in the editor area where your cursor turns into a speaker icon to preview the samples in your instrument, the dB level adjustment works fine. But if you click on an individual sample for your instrument, it stays the same volume in spite of the changes. I think it might be a bug.
I guess I’m going to have to start using BBMO to be able to answer questions. In BB Manager, after you adjust a kits levels, you can save the kit. Sorry for the confusion.

I tried doing this in BB Manager (Legacy) and saved the kit and project before syncing, but even then it’s still not saving the levels. I’m using my own samples and not a factory kit, if that makes any difference. Curious why it wouldn’t work in the offline version, I’m not sure what the cause could be!
As it turns out, the solution was directly in front of me as a user-end error and not a bug! Incidentally, I have two very similar instruments in my custom kit, and I was testing the wrong samples for playback on a certain BB rock song. All it took was testing the other sample bank to realize my mistake, and now the volume changes hold over on the kit and the pedal. In any case, the report is now logged here in the forums as info for any other fools like me!
