My workflow:
I have a folder with a songlist of 80 songs.
I’ll be practicing w BB and guitar in basement studio, identifying fills that don’t sound right to me, adjusting tempo, etc.
I take notes on each instance of editing needed, maybe 10 or 12 things in different songs.
Take SD card and notes to PC in office, access BBMO, make adjustments / replacements, etc. Sync to SD card, take card back to basement.
I started to notice tempos that I swore I had changed in BBMO, were not adjusted. Thought it was my mental lapse in editing. Happened some more. Whaa?
Took card to office to fix one tempo, no other edits. Card back to basement.
Tempo didn’t change! I’m not crazy.
Tried again w different songs, 1 at a time. Sometimes it took, sometimes it didn’t.
Now I’m thinking: tempos are easy to keep mental track of, but replacing fills is another thing. I identify a fill I don’t like, grab something from another song copy/paste.
I have very little sophisticated drum knowledge, so I don’t remember the names of fills I work with, I just try stuff randomly, I don’t remember what I did over 12 edits.
I’m wondering if these types of changes I make are also not saving?
Something I tried once: I duplicated a song, changed the tempo of the copy. It took. Now I’ll delete the original, drag the new copy to its order in the list.
Anybody else see this?
What’s great about BeatBuddy: I have little knowledge and I can make it sound like I have a drummer.
