Beat buddy and aeros

Hi all ,
This might be a stupid question , but here goes!
I use the beat buddy and the Aeros looper together. When I do a live show, I pre record my drums, essentially I make a backing track and play that through an aeros looper into the P.A, than I play along with the backing track .My question is do I have to record the drums , so I have the drum rolls and stops etc in the right spots each time I play a recorded loop or if I choose to play the drums with beat buddy live with the aeros looper do I have to manually insert rolls and stops every time, I do a recorded loop? Hopefully that makes sense

Why are you recording the drums through the Aeros? I think you should be running an output from the BB to your mixer or PA and a separate output from the Aeros. Sync them using the midi breakout cable and a midi cable.

If you don’t record the drums in advance then you have to launch the fills etc by foot whenever you need them. If you need them during recording another instrument then yes, if not then no

I’m no looper user but typically loops could be four bars and fills come every 16 bars, right? So you would have time to record four layers before you need to launch a fill :yum:

Hi, thanks for your reply, I don’t do Live Loops , I have both aeros and Bb synced via midi. I basically make backing tracks using the aeros and BB. I play in a duo , I use a basic backing track then play over the top of this.Since I’m the main guitar player it makes it easier for me not having to insert rolls , stops etc while playing live. I just plug the aeros into the PA and use a set list which I have saved in songs:guitar::guitar:

Do you use Aeros for anything else than drum loops?

And in any case you could program BB to work with just one press including intro, fills and outro in correct places. There are actually ton of one press songs in this forum including not just drums but other instruments too. And all you need is BB, no Aeros needed :yum:

I’d guess you can combine BB one press song to Aeros loop if you use Aeros for other stuff too. I don’t have enough details to say if this approach makes more sense or your current approach :relieved:

I guess there is something that bothers you in your current workflow. Could you specify what that is? :upside_down_face:

Thanks aspo for your reply. I’m still trying to work out what is the best work flow method.Previous to having the BB and aeros, I had a digitech stereo jam man and I ran a mini BB. This format had limitations so I decided to upgrade, and I’m still learning :blush:I didn’t realise you could add instruments to the BB
