Context: I’m using a boss rc300 looper and the Beatbuddy, using the looper as the master midi.
I have my settings set so the midi message for stop is disabled and start enabled.
The result is when I press start on my looper the Beatbuddy comes in fine and when I stop the looper for a quick pause the Beatbuddy continues and this is fine.
However the issue I’m having is when I press start again on the looper they’re not midi synced and will eventually drift. What would be ideal is if the Beatbuddy buddy would go back to the start of the bar when I press start on my looper and stay synced.
Any advice? And for a midi interface I’m using a Blokas midihub.
Thank you guys!!
I don’t know the specifications of that looper. But in order for your configuration to work the looper should know the tempo and bar length for sync to work. And then the looper would do the magic to stay in sync with BB. BB would just stay in sync with clock coming from your looper
I have been thinking (not tried yet) a configuration where I’d call pause and unpause at the same time I start the looper playback But that just makes sure that playback and BB start at the same time. I should then do that every time I notice there is drift happening
Forgot to mention: I have HX Stomp which has looper that doesn’t do any sort of midi sync
If your midi interface supports some programming then you could try to make sure looper start and stop would activate only when BB has just switched measure. This would make drifting a lot smaller issue And if used for restart then it would start in sync too
