Best way to hear the BeatBuddy?

Right now I’m just using beat buddy out of my Spark II amp, but from what I understand I can get better sound if I use speakers/monitors. Could you recommend some good quality ones? I’d be using it for playing live/busking etc. The smaller the better. Thanks.

I have heard lot of good talk about Genelec and I think they have quite small units too

Also, if the amp has aux in then that will have better sound quality :relieved:

Yes, I’ve been using my Spark two amp and it doesn’t sound bad so are you suggesting I just keep it that way? Thanks.

If you’re not unhappy then why not

I guess small cabinets have hard time to produce loud volume and/or low bass (or then they consume a lot of energy) so I don’t know how much you can improve while keeping it small

There might be some technological breakthroughs out there but even then I’d guess that bigger is still louder and comes with lower bass  (most likely they also consume more energy while doing it)

I mean that comparing my first and second bass combos is like a night and day even though they are about the same size, but that is just because the first was so bad :grimacing::face_with_peeking_eye: So definitely one can improve - how much depends on how bad the current one is

I am a busker too and my setup is a Bose S1 Pro+. I use the Bose wireless transmitters for my mic and guitar on ch.1 and 2. I use a Getaria wireless 1/4” transmitter/receiver on ch.3 with my BeatBuddy Mini. It works beautifully and I can play for well over 2 hours with this setup — the batteries on each of the devices lasts longer than I can play.

So you just play everything out of the Bose? Thank you!! I mean do you just have 1 Bose speaker? Thanks I’m new to this.

Can’t go wrong with the Bose S1. Another option which is a little less expensive might be the ‘Alto Busker’. I don’t have any experience with it, but seems to get OK reviews. Youtube is a good source of demos and reviews which I would recommend.

But does enerything come out of there? I’m new and a little confused. Does the beat buddy , vocals , guitar .:. Does all that come out of that? Thank you.

You won’t go wrong with a small PA. What you’re looking for are full range speakers which are more capable of handling the highs of the cymbals and the lows of the kick and toms.

Another option besides a PA is a keyboard amp which also provides full range speakers. Something to look at is the Roland KC series which will work with voice and the BeatBuddy. You can find used ones at a decent price. If you plan on using battery power though, this may not be your best choice.
