Bugs in BB2 firmware v1.0.1

I installed the latest firmware v1.0.1, but after testing my beat buddy 2 with the latest firmware installed, it introduced at least three bugs that I know of that wasn’t on the previous firmware v 1.0.0.

First bug is the beat that created of my own, I normally create a beat sequence that doesn’t contain fills and outro, because whenever I create an outro, whenever it reaches the end of the song, it just loops back to the start of the song, and I couldn’t figure out how to stop it from looping back to the start of the song, so what I did was to add extra blank bars so I can just double tap the left footswitch stop the beat, but now, after installing the latest firmware, when double tapping the left footswitch to stop the beat, it plays single or so beat before it actually stops.

Second bug is when you tap the ‘Fill” left footswitch while it’s playing even though I didn’t include fills on my own beat sequence, but somehow, when you tap the left footswitch while playing, it seems like it’s starting the beat from the start all over again.

Third bug is when I’m playing a downloaded user generated content, titled “While my guitar gently weeps” whenever I start the song, it skips the first bar, it wasn’t doing that on the previous firmware.

Is there anyone experiencing the same issue?

I’ve gone back to the previous v 1.0.0 firmware and tested again all these issue, thankfully those issues are all gone and back to normal.

Seems the v1.0.1 has been removed. Only the v1.0.0 firmware is posted.

Thanks for the reply, I clicked the link from the email that I received informing me about the new firmware update v 1.0.1, the link is still active and downloadable.

Ahh found it in the other thread. The download link on the main product site is only 1.0.0.

Yeah, I was excited to update because I was having issues with a few songs having multiple measure transitions (that bug was noted as a fix, which was fixed in the update). But then ran into this bigger issue of accidentally hitting the fill and throwing off the section I was in entirely.

Also had the outro triggering one measure (of something?) when there wasn’t anything programmed, instead of just finishing the measure like my original BeatBuddy (though the Outro issue could be worked around by using the Footswitch and the “Stop (Outro)” setting).

Thanks for the reply. I’m not happy that it’s also happening to other users, but at least it’s good to know that it wasn’t just me. I was excited to update mine as well, that is why I went to update my BeatBuddy’s firmware as soon as I received an email about the new firmware update, my excitement went quickly out the window when I test it and realised that there’s something wrong when I hit the footswitch, So I’ve downgraded back to the original firmware.

Thanks for the tip, I’ve never thought of that, I’ll try that work around.

Hopefully they will fix those new issues.

You might want to stay on the v1.0.0 and not install the latest firmware v 1.0.1 until they release a new firmware update that will fix these new issues, otherwise you might run into the same issues I’ve had, just a suggestion.

Yeah I went back to 1.0.0 for last night’s gig and just marked off the 25ish songs out of my 300 that have multiple measure transitions and avoided them. Didn’t have any of the other problems I was having!

It’s good that you’ve marked off those 25ish songs that have multiple measure transitions in them for your last night’s gig, imagine if during that gig and you play one the songs that you’ve marked off and hit the footswitch to trigger fill and transition only to be thrown off the section you were in?

Hopefully they will soon release a new firmware update that fixes these new issues and also includes the bug fixes and several enhancements that were on v1.0.1.

Hi Eumir,

we do not allow batch requests on the forum, all requests must be made on separate posts and must be concise in the request

I have moved your post to the appropriate category for this reason.

Please submit each bug report in a separate post and include any relevant files. Thank you!
