I am fairly new to this having only just started to learn the guitar, I was wondering if its possible to replace my metronome with Beat Buddy
Probably wouldn’t provide the simplicity and ease of use that your dedicated metronome provides. I think you’d probably spend more time trying to program it for what you want to do than is worth it.
You can search this forum and see some of the clever uses folks have come up with, though.
I just got a BeatBuddy Mini specifically to practice without a metronome. As far as I can tell, there’s no programming involved, just spin the dial to find the right beat, then adjust the tempo and start playing. At first it may take a little time to ~find~ the right beat (there’s what, 124 beats to choose from?), but once you find a few you like I’d say it’s MUCH better than a metronome.
Part of the Beat Buddy (not mini) default content, is a metronome folder (a set of Beat Buddy “songs”) containing metronome patterns, in a variety of time signatures, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 5/8, 6/4, 6/8, 7/4, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8 and unaccented quarter notes. I believe that could more than replace a metronome.
