Im having issues if I daisy chain MIDI IN and MIDI OUT of my gear.
However, to get my Bluetooth system to work I have to bypass the MIDI IN of the Maestro.
To my knowledge MM does merge the midi in with the Bluetooth commands, always 
But perhaps you can change the order of your pedals so that you don’t have to use the midi in of MM
