Looking for assistance. I cannot get any sound out of my Beat Buddy. I have it going into my mixer through momo output. No guitar in, my guitar goes straight into my mixer. I am using a TS cable > mixer input. I see a popular video showing set up to a mixer stating to use a TRS cable out of the mono. Tried a TRS but still no sound. It used to work great but now no sound. Yes, the volume is up on the puddle and at the board.
Is the headphone out working?
- Do you have headphones you could plug into the BB headphone jack?
- With the TS cable plugged into the mixer, but not the BB, touch the cable end tip of the TS plug and see if you get hum to ensure the cable works into the mixer.
- TRS cable might work on the L/R outputs, but the BB prefers a cable with TS plugs. Headphone jack would be TRS for stereo to headphones.

That being the case, I think you’re going to need to deal with support. It sounds hardware related. You could try to reinstall an earlier version of the firmware to see if that changes anything. That might help narrow down the possibilities.

Along with what Phil suggested, there is a function in the BB menu to reset the BB to default settings. This likely may not help, but worth a try and is easy to do.
Might also try loading a project from either BBM or BBMO to rewrite what is in the BB memory.

Hey Mark, appreciate your taking the time to provide advice, weigh in on my issue. I’m taking my BB to a friends who also had a BB that’sworking fine with his set up. I will switch out his for mine to see if he gets sound. If not, it’s definitely my unit. My update is the latest (4.1.6) but I havent used it in approx. 9 months, maybe that has something to do with it? I dunno. If I go to default, do I leave my SD card in and if so, will it affect it, the conents in any way? I just downloaded the updated loader and have yet to use the new BBM so it’s foreigh to me and forget how to save the content on my SD card on my desktop. Have to hit YouTube to refresh my memory. Gettin’ old!

UPDATE 05-06-25 Problem Solved!!!
Took my BB to my buddy’s place who also has a BB. Plugged it into his amp direct and no sound. Took my card & popped his in and BINGO… SOUND! It’s not the hardware, it’s the card – must be corrupt. Why it would suddenly go corrupt when I didn’t do any updates to it is beyond me. That being said, I haven’t used the pedal for a year so I don’t know if sitting idol would have an impact – I wouldn’t think so.
Anyhow, so now I must reacquaint myself as to how I create a new card from backup files/projects on my desktop. YouTube here I come! I sincere interest to all of you the weighed in with support, recommendations. 1st call and very much appreciated! Love the support on this chat group, never has let me down so thanx again fella’s!

i have same issue…how you get a new card? erase and add again with a computer?
I reached out to support. They were a huge help, Daniel is awesome. Turns out it wasn’t my card – corrupted. It was on my Beatbuddy mono input. My TS cable plug fully inserted = no sound. Pulled it out slowly = sound. I have a loose connection with the mono input.
Try playing your BB into headphones, the headphone jack and see if you get sound.

can you please help…I just bought the new Beatbuddy…I can’t seem to figure out some of the sound are not working.
For example, Bolero beat…it was working when I first open it…then I saved it to playlist 1….After that it’s not working anymore when I open the folder…When I go back to the Bolero default file, I can’t find anymore bolero …1, bolero 2, bolero 3 etc….this happen to any beat that I try to save into a playlist.
Please help…I try to reset the BB to default but it didn’t really refresh everything…

I can try that, but pretty sure it’s not that since some other sounds are working fine. Just once i try to saved it to a playlist, no more sound whether i play it from the playlist or back to the original folder.

What did you have jacked in? Your initial post mentioned no guitar in the BB, direct in the mixer.
No guitar in, only mono out to my mixer
