CC:28 Click volume (Firmw 5.2.1)

CC:28 Click volume (Firmw 5.2.1) doesn’t seems to be working. Value isn’t updating realtime. HOWEVER, it applies the lastest received value AFTER slighty moving the wheel (Mixer 2 Screen).

Hi Ed,

Please send a short video of the issue to support@singularsound.com, and I’ll help troubleshoot it for you.

Hi Singular Daniel!

Well, first of all I have to admit that last night I was working on the machine without audio outputs, so this morning I was able to make more findings about it:

The Continuous Controller 28 actually works fine sound-wise (it changes the click volume, as long as it’s enabled in Behavior/Click Settings). Apologies for having relied only on visual information when posting the thread.

So the rephrased approach would come to be:

1- There is a typo in the documentation. The value range of the CC:28 is not 0-127 but 0-100.
2- The transmitted value is not updated in real time on the Mixer 2 screen (unlike the other MIDI-controlled faders). However, it is updated to the last value received by lightly touching the wheel (regardless of the direction in which it moves).
3- The transmitted value is not updated in real time in the Behavior/Click Settings/Click volume menu. But it does update to the last value received when moving back and forth to/from the previous menu (Behavior).
4- As an observation, the Click Volume parameter does not provide visual feedback of its reception and value in the form of a pop-up, unlike other parameters.

And that’s all, in case all this can be of help to the developers now, maybe a reason for a lapse of deep introspection, or at least as humble indications to find a better future together in this precise plane of existence.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for your detailed report! I’ve forwarded it to the dev team for their review.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out!

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed follow-up and observations! I’ve received a response from the team:

  1. We’ll update the documentation to correct the CC:28 value range.

Regarding points 2, 3, and 4, this is currently a known limitation of the system, and it’s unlikely these will be changed.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you Daniel!

Here is a list of the typos I’ve found in that doc (Wrong values on 3rd column. Correct values in bold):

Singular Sound MIDI Command Typos 5.2.1
CC:28 Click Volume 0-127 0-100
CC:35 Navigate to Screen Open/Close Slideout Menu (Loop Studio)
1-5 6
CC:38 Mute Unmute EOL 2-9 41
CC: 43 Start / Stop Song Cancel Stop 1-1 2
Stop End of Measure 1-2 3
CC:103 7/4 1-24 25
1/16 1-2 3

Too bad for the rest of points. Good to known though.

Now may we try to take a day off the week to deepen out our inner life.
