Change Drum loop whilst paused

Hey folks
Just wondering if this is possible. There are so many songs where you pause the loop before the chorus and you then want to bang into the chorus with a different loop. Is there a way to transition whilst paused?

As a workaround I tried creating a transition loop that had silence but for some reason the beat buddy does not “hear” the silence and just goes into the chorus pattern.

Do what you did with the silence, but add midi notes that are not mapped to anything in the kit. That will cause BB to play the silent transition rather than just skipping it.
