Is there a way to record a track but not have it start immediately? On my Ditto X4 I can record a loop and hit the stop button to end the recording. When I want the part I tap the appropriate loop button to start that part. For instance, say a song intro has the chord pattern for the chorus or solo but the first verse pattern is different. I want to record the intro/solo pattern but don’t want it to play while I am playing the first verse.
Would muting the track help in this situation?
Could you please clarify what you are trying to achieve exactly? A short video showing or explaining it would also be helpful, and I can assist you with the best solution.
I ahve the same question. we want to record a loop, press stop to save the loop, and then be able to reinitiate it when we need it to play back. Both the Ditto and the boss products do this and I’m sure theres a work around I just haven’t found it yet.
essentially you have to double tap the record button to both save the recording and stop the play which usually results in a bit of overdub that I then have to delete…I want to press record, lay down a loop and then save it without it playing back right away. The way that I play, in general, is to record the intro, play my song and then when its time to solo, press play on the loop. once the loop is recorded and saved you can use the start/stop button to do this. but if you press the stop button while recording it also apparently deletes the loop, although its still visible, just deselected or unhighlighted and I haven’t figured out how to bring it back.
You have Cancel Recording enabled in the device settings behavior menu, turn this off so the Play Stop All doesn’t cancel the current recording
Let us know if this fixes your issue
Yes, if you tap the Play Stop All button it will stop playback while also committing the recording
The Cancel Recording device setting in behavior menu must be disabled to allow this, otherwise you would need a midi controller to send a stop command.
