If i just bought the Beatbuddy would it have the newest firmware .if not how would i cheak.

Just press together DRUM SET and TEMPO buttoms.
Then go to ABOUT BEATBUDDY.
Latest version is 2.0.4 !!!
Press and release both Drum Set and Tempo knobs on the BB pedal and use Tempo knob to scroll to About.
