I get how I use the footswitch to control the drummer, but is there any way to set the BB to play a song ‘from the top’, where it plays each part the specified number of bars and then moves on? I’d really like to practice along to the BB by listening for the changes, not making it make the changes.

Then you need to build your song in the beatbuddy manager by using a midi file for the drum sequence

Sure. Try the one-press bass (OPB) versions that are on the forum.

Yep, the one-press songs are what you need. Lotsa people on this forum swear by them.
