For live shows, how are folks using backing tracks?

Hi folks,
Just got my Aeros last week and am having a blast slowly figuring it out. Here’s my goal for getting started: in a 2x2 song have a backing track for Part 1 and Part 2 that forms the rhythmic foundation of the song that I can save with an empty Track 2 for each Part, making it possible to have a “template” that allows me to pull the song up at a gig with the existing backing tracks and a blank slate on the second Track of each Part. Ideally, this would then translate to a 6x6 Song where I could have a more complex arrangement and move between parts.

As it stands, it seems the only way to accomplish this is to create new songs for each gig because you can’t delete the second track once you’ve started looping with it. Am I right about that? I tried holding the record pedal down long enough to undo the entire track, but when I save, close, and then open the Song up again the audio for the track I “undid” starts playing as soon as I hit play. Am I also correct in thinking (haven’t tried this yet, literally just occurred to me) that another work around might be to, after each gig, go through and manually record silence for each track? Any other suggestions or work-arounds?

Oh and having read through many threads, consider this another vote for the capacity to just delete a track - that would make this very easy.

Fantastic looper - looking forward to using it for live performance!

Have you tried just not saving the song?

This way track 2 would always be empty for playing loops live.

Ahhhhh…and this is why we post these types of things. So if I save it once with the drum backing tracks on each Part but then not save it ever again…Thank you Ed! I’m going to try this now. Pretty sure that will work. Not sure why that didn’t occur to me.
