For those who just purchased the Beat Buddy.. (also posted in FB group)

I was so perplexed earlier this week and did so much grumbling. But the truth is this pedal is awesome and I’m having a ball now. But here’s a good response I got from support and I love it. It answers all my main questions. From there you can get into more details with practice and time etc. The rep’s name is Daniel and I’m very grateful, I told hime so. 🙂 Here it is:

Hi Trey,

You can also use the BeatBuddy Manager Legacy version and the BeatBuddy Loader; however, please note that these versions are no longer supported, which means any bugs won’t be addressed in the future. If you encounter issues with them, we won’t be able to assist. The BBMO has fixed those issues, and if you experience any problems with it, they will be sent to the development team for resolution.

The BBMO was released this year, which is why it may not be featured in YouTube videos yet. To learn more about using it, refer to the steps in my previous email, the manual, and the forum. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I’ll gladly help you!

You can download songs from beatbuddysonglist.com and import them using the import song button. For the best quality, consider the Groove Monkee Collection available from us, which can be ordered as a pre-loaded SD card for convenience.

Regarding the Song Matching Tool, it’s easy to find famous songs and their corresponding beats.

All the songs you see in the song matching tool are already programmed into your BeatBuddy. For example, if you’d like to play “And I Love Her” by the Beatles, you would open the song matching tool and type “And I Love Her” in the search bar.

You’ll see the song appear in the list, showing(see image below):

To play it, look for the line that says “BeatBuddy: Blues 1.” This means you need to navigate to the Blues folder on your BeatBuddy using the arrows on your unit and select the Blues 1 song. Press the Tap button to select it. After that, adjust the BPM to 112 using the tempo knob, and you’re ready to play the song!

There have been no forum posts about the RC-30’s MIDI sync capability, and since I don’t own one, I can’t confirm compatibility. I suggest you try connecting them via MIDI. You’ll need the BeatBuddy MIDI Adapter and a MIDI cable; the BeatBuddy uses a 5-pin MIDI cable, while your looper likely requires a small TRS jack for MIDI—please verify this before buying. To connect the two, use a 5-pin MIDI to TRS mini jack cable and connect the BeatBuddy’s MIDI OUT to your looper’s MIDI IN. If you want the BeatBuddy to be the master clock, use its MIDI OUT; if you prefer the looper as the master, use the looper’s MIDI OUT. However, I cannot guarantee compatibility between the two.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out!

Keep Rockin’!
