I’ll check out the midi, but if you are only hearing bass, it means you didn’t combine them to a single track.
That was the issue!
SOmewhere I messed that step.
Hopefully for the last time, thanks! Okay I have done that to other parts now and all seems good. Odd thing I’ve noticed is that the midi assignments in my editor are one step off from stand – at least they read that way, but the play appropriately???
Thanks again!
Hello nice soft
But a looper function could be fine on it
I mean select a section and let’s play this part on a loop, and with the possibilitie to delete or add blocks when the loop stay playing.
that can be more easy and faster to create a song.
But, Thank to the creator of this software

^ agreed …
It would be nice to actually see the notes being played during the scroll
…all I see is note 155 to 87 on the screen, but everything (notes) is ‘happening’ lower than that
downloaded the BeatBuilder app onto Win10 64 bit. No joy. Have installed Java 8 (the latest version) and cannot link the file to Java to get it to run. It is not an option. This program sounded so promising.
It appears that BeatBuilder doesn’t play well with Windows 10. If you have installed WinZip or 7-zip or another program like these, it is supposed to unzip the .jar file and it does but I find no .exe file to run the program. I hope someone has some help. I used the program with Windows 8 with no problem. HELP!!
BeatBuilder runs great on my Windows 10 machine. The .jar file runs directly in windows 10 - just double click it.
I had to update my Java. Works great now.
Try to update Java to the newest version. Worked for me.
Suggest you get the beta BBManager. The midi editor built into 1.6.0.1 is terrific. You have to send an email to request it from the BBSupport guy.
Silly question, is there a simple undo/redo button somewhere in beatbuilder. I can’t seem to find anything…
double click your mistake …it turns the note off.
Thanks. Other than than nothing? Sometimes I’ve deleted notes by mistake I accidentally hitting remove notes instead of randomize the volumes. A silmple undo button and they would re-appear instead of having to click them all in again. This is just one instance where it would be benifical to have an undo button. Doesn’t appear as though one exists though
No there isn’t one. Save frequently!
Have been successfully using the Beat Builder for a while and getting my head around it. However I have just come up with an anomaly which is confusing me. I am making a track for The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkle…it is a simple beat on the toms and the obvious ‘snare hit and cymbal crash’ in the chorus. I don’t use the accent hits as I have the dual Beat Buddy foots witch set to pause and ‘outro’…so I am using a ‘fill’ for the cymbal crash. This works fine on the BB Manager…and it works on the Beat Buddy …but only for the the first hit after I synchronise it. After this all I get when I hit the fill is the snare hit… any ideas? I have also discovered that I am getting a ‘dual hit’ when I use the Beat Builder to make accent fills…are these issues linked?
Big thanks to Charles for creating the Beatbuilder. It’s just what I needed.
It’s probably the Cue Fill Period setting. There’s a setting for how much of the measure the fill will actually fill vice waiting for the next measure depending on when you press the pedal. The setting is Main Pedal>Cue Fill Period - the description is on page 31 of the latest BB manual. Try setting is higher or lower depending on whether or not you want the fill to play more on the current measure or wait until the next measure to play.
I’m considering setting this very low so that the fill always plays in the next measure and fills the whole measure. Alternatively you could set it very high so that the fill always plays in the current measure but then you have to make sure to hit the switch early in the measure so the fill occupies as much of the current measure as you want. I don’t know if the BB fills the measure with the remainder of the fill or if it starts at the beginning of the fill and plays as much as it can. I believe it’s the first one - it plays however much of the end of the fill is needed to finish the current measure. A setting of 50% gives you the best balance of options - a late press puts the fill in the next measure, an early press fills the remainder of the current measure. Remember that the timing is marked from when you release the pedal, not when you initially press the pedal unless you have it set specifically to trigger on press.
If that doesn’t work, you can try putting some phantom beats into your fill and your loop so the BB gets a cue for the start/end of loops and fills. A phantom beat would be a kick of the lowest volume possible (1) at the beginning and end of a loop or fill.
Cheers mate…that makes sense…I will try it and let you know what happens…
