Hi there.
I just wanted to share this. I’m very happy with my purchase of the Beat Buddy.
I have my BB since Oct of last year. I have been using it in a live capacity since March. Our duo band play between 2 & 3 gigs a week. Our whole set is loaded up into our setlist folder and we have a secondary folder with alternate songs and other songs we might use should the need arise. It has made a massive difference to our performances and to how other people view our band. We have picked up some residency gigs since we started using the pedal, which we are very happy about. It makes us sound really slick and sharp.
But the best thing of all happened today. It’s not really a comment about the pedal, but to us it is the best news. In 2 weeks time there is a major 3 day music festival called Inis Fest happening where I live. Lots of big names playing. A couple of different stages. A really great summer music festival. Well the great news is that I managed to get my duo onto the bill. We are going to have a 40 min slot on a stage in front of 3000 people. Musically, for me anyway, this is going to be the biggest thing I have ever been involved in. I am stoked. I’m really excited about this. And front and centre at this gig, in our set, in front of 3000 people, will be the BeatBuddy pounding out the backbeat and the rhythm. I really just wanted to share my excitement with you all.
Congratulations! I hope it goes well for you. You sound very confident about it so it will come out OK.
I know what the excitement is about. Been there & done that. Played a lot of live shows. Best of luck to both of you. Sincerely, Fingerstylepicker.
Congrats!! Please consider sharing your song files with all of us!
I really look forward to seeing/hearing your time there! Hope you can have someone record and then post!
Wow. That is amazing! Let us know how it goes.
I’ll try to get some of them up. Most of the songs are just Beatbuddy stock beats with amended intros. I figured out some suitable ones and others I used the list from this page http://www.beatbuddytools.com/songs/ . I also used some of the downloadable beats from the beats section on this forum. I am not that technically minded to go writing a beat, I just try and modify whats already there. I hope this helps.
I’ll try my best to get someone to film it. I would like a record of it myself for posterity sake. Thanks for your comment.
Well, my band, “The Bandeleros” performed at Inis Fest yesterday. It was a 3 day summer music festival in Ennis, Co. Clare in the West of Ireland. We originally thought we had a 40 minute slot but as the time drew nearer, that slot became an hour and then when it came down to show time we ended up doing nearly 90 minutes. It was a great experience. Great atmosphere and above all great fun. The Beatbuddy pedal did it’s job perfectly and with sound engineers working away for us, they kept it and us pounding out the tunes. I haven’t managed to get my hands on much video but someone gave me this file of us playing “Sweet Home Alabama”. Hope you like it!!!
