Help. Aeros, BB, and Maestro not syncing

Help!!
I have Beat Buddy, Aeros, and Maestro.
I have MIDI breakout cable plugged in Beat Buddy.
Out goes to In on Aeros
MIDI Out on Maestro goes to IN on breakout cable.
I hear all
I can command BB via Maestro
Have a new song opened
Tempo from BB does not sync with Aeros
I was looping yesterday with Aeros
I have a gig tonight and it is not working.
I’m not troubleshooting very well.
Once again
I have
Beat Buddy MIDI sync cable
Out to Aeros
In to Out on Maestro

Have you tried switching the two midi cables to see if one of them is broken?

Breakout out side could also be broken. But to verify that you’d need some monitoring capabilities

Aeros in could also be broken. Can you connect MM directly to Aeros in to verify that you can receive some commands? :upside_down_face:

Aeros settings could be off too, but I believe the default settings should work as is. So unless you have changed the settings this shouldn’t be the case :relieved: (but this is just my assumption)

Has the setup worked at some point?

Note that this is a midi problem, not audio problem

Typo on previous

Hi

I tried everything individually

Maestro controls BB and Aeros

They follow commands

I even replaced cables

Aeros In is good as it talks to Maestro

BB and Aeros not communicating.

I changed MIDI cable going from BB out to Maestro.

Break out cable Out may be faulty.

I bought it from you guys I think or Sweetwater.

Sounds like it’s either the breakout out or BB out if you’re out of luck :no_mouth:

Can you command Aeros through BB? I mean that you say only sync doesn’t work. If other commands go through then it’s not a connection problem but could be the settings or a software issue

Have you looked at the settings in the BB Main Menu > MIDI Settings > MIDI OUT ? There is a SYNC setting that may affect what gets sent. You may want to look at the other MIDI settings as well so as to understand what they do. I don’t have the Aeros so I can’t speak for MIDI settings that may or may not have

If the Maestro is talking to the Aeros through the BB (if I understand your connections) I kinda think the cables may be OK

Check if BB is set to “merge”

@DanielSingularSound should be able to help, I will notify him you need assistance!

Do I want it on Merge?
It is on Merge

Thanks everyone.
I simply want to come up with proper kit.
Start BB, and after initial fill it starts recording and build on that.
This is the kind of rabbit hole I was hoping to avoid by selling RC-500
It is very possible I don’t have the mental bandwidth to loop!!
If anyone can chat or do FaceTime please DM and I will give my number
Thanks again

I think I’ve figured it out!
I can control Beat Buddy from Maestro.
So those two are synced.
I still can’t get Maestro to control Aeros, until I go directly from Maestro to Aeros, and it works.
The problem seems to be the breakout cable’s “out” 5 Pin
I bought breakout cable from Singular.
So if taking breakout cable out of the mix and going direct from Maestro to Aeros it works
Going from Maestro to Beat Buddy it works.
It HAS to be faulty “OUT” on breakout cable.
