Yeah I know it’s been done before, but I wanted something a little more faithful to the original. This uses Phil Flood’s NP STAX AcousticPiano kit, and also had an assist from Persist.
The Zip includes the cheat sheet… check it out for timing the intro and you hitting that initial G. Just make sure you know your sus4 and sus2 shapes to pull it off! I didn’t include the tab for Keefer’s part/solo as it’s readily available (see Ultimate Guitar for a good transcription.
The sax backup is in this version (although it does sound somewhat “electronic”).
So… enjoy. Let me know what you think, pro or con.
Probably well worth your time to learn how to edit using the BBMO.
The BBMO allows users to remove parts.
Here’s the steps to edit using the BBMO:
import the song to the BBMO
click on the Fold button to display only the notes used for the song
click in the MIDI Editor pane and press ctrl-A or ⌘-A to select all of the notes
press the Instrument Selector next to the cowbell (this unselects the cowbell)
press ctrl-X or ⌘-X to delete all but the cowbell
Save Project
I went ahead and edited the song for you and changed the kit to SUB-Standard Pro Plain. I also set the song up so you only have to single-tap to start it; a double-tap will end it. Honky Tonk Women cowbell v1.sng (15.6 KB)
