How do I replace jazz kick drum with brushes kick drum?

Greetings, Is there a way to use the replace jazz kick drum set with the brushes kit kick drum? Also, Is there a way to use these the samples from the Chamberlin Rhythmate?

Welcome to the Forum. Using BB Manager Online, BBMO, you can copy pieces of one drum kit to another drum kit. Essentially you would first copy the jazz drum kit, then delete the kick drum. Next you would import the kick drum from the brushes kit to your jazz drum kit copy.

As for your other question, if you have samples of the sounds from the Chamberlain drum machine, you could put those sounds into a kit.
You first need to convert the sounds to 16bit, 44.1 mhz wav files.

Take a look at the BBMO manual for further guidance.

Thanks Phil, this is good news. Does this kick drum switch-a-roo need to be done in the online manager, or can it be done with app. I am using Mac OS Monterey btw, if that matters.

In regards to the Chamberlin Rhythmate the files are from here - Ah unable to send links.

You can do it in the app, but it’s a bit more convoluted. I have a tutorial on swapping on drum sounds.

7 Editing a Drumkit.pdf.zip (313.5 KB)

You’ll need to find the wav file for the drums you want to put into the kit. If you open up the kit as if you were going to edit it, BB Manager will create a folder of the wav file in the kit on your hard drive. Unfortunately, it does this at rather random locations. Use the Finder’s search function to search for the kit’s wavs after you open it. They will be named a “kit name”_WAVES. Here is an example from a kit named LABS Piano & Guitar. The system created this folder:

Once you have the WAVES files you can swap them about at will. Just follow the process in the tutorial.

Oh, and if you would, send me the link for the Chamberlain files to my personal e-mail philflood@aol.com. I collect old drum machine sounds.

Benny,

I bought the kit from Rhythmic Robot and converted the samples to wav files. The cymbals are not real good. Some of the other hits are real nice. I built a kit that should be mostly BB compatible. It’s attached to this. I used mostly tabla sound to get a representation of tom toms. The Clip Clop at 24 and 25 could be a metronome. Essentially, 35 through 75 is the kit. The other things are extra and are out of the way, but you could use them to replace a snare or something else.

To do that, you would renumber the existing snare to a number that is out of the way, and the change the number on the snare you want to use to 38 or 40, depending upon which you are replacing.

Let me know what you think.

Phil

Chamberlin Rhythmate Kit 1.drm (2.6 MB)

This is awesome Phil! going to check it out as soon as get a chance. I finally got it imported. The import functions didn’t seem to work. However the drag and drop from downloads folder to BB workspace drums folder did. Learning this software will click at some point. Cheers!
