I’m having an issue with Beatbuddy 2 and Aeros not syncing properly

I’m using BB2 as master and Aeros as slave. I wanted the playback screen to show when I started a rhythm on the BB2; and I wanted to be able to pause and unpause the beat buddy and have the Aeros start playback at the same time; but when I pause the BB2 and restart it, the recording on the Aeros doesn’t start. Then when I hit Play All it starts immediately instead of waiting for the down beat. The only way I can get the Aeros to start playback on the down beat is if I disable the Playback setting on Aeros and set BB2 MIDI Out>Start>Intro. If I set BB2 to Main it doesn’t work. I’ve also noticed that on some of my preset BB2 songs when I go to the playback screen the measure in quantize mode don’t line up with the downbeat on the beat buddy, even though the Aeros is reading the midi clock from the BB2, meaning when I change the tempo on the BB2 the Aeros changes with it.

I’ve exhausted all of the advice from chat gpt. I’ve tried every permutation of settings possible and nothing works quite right. I either can’t get the playback screen to show up when BB starts, or I can’t get the Aeros to playback when I unpause BB, or the Aeros comes in immediately instead of on the downbeat.

I’m also curious about the sync issue. Is it possible that it happens with community generated BB rhythms?

In case anyone has the issue with songs not syncing between BB2 and Aeros, I discovered that it is just one of the songs I downloaded from the community (so far). I don’t know exactly what the problem is, maybe the rhythm is not synced correctly to the beat in the song file? I haven’t had time to look at the file in BBMO. I’m not sure I’d know anyway. But it doesn’t happen with any of the songs I created using the built in rhythms on the BB2.

Interestingly I found that I can play the song in Auto-quantize mode (which chat gpt told me not to do) and it syncs perfectly. I also confirmed that it was not my playing that was out of sync. One, because I didn’t have the issue on other songs, and two, because the auto-quantized rhythm was based on me playing to the external beat from the BB2 and the tempo was a perfect match (83bpm).
