Hi Jsmcmichael!

  I see where you were looking for Black Water by the Doobie Bros.

When I perform the tune I simply use the Shuffle beat from BONUS: Hand Percussion drum kits. I start with the initial beat for a count of 4 and transition to the 2nd beat to sing. I find it works very well as the bass drum sort of substitutes for a bass line. Link to video below. I hope this helps!
