Import Midi file from Toontrack

Hello, is it possible to directly import MIDI files from Toontrack into BeatBuddy?
I’d like to buy a Drum MIDI pack, but I’m wondering if it will work well with BeatBuddy, especially regarding drum sets.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks for your help.

Toontracks midi files are mapped for EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer. Their drumsets use the core general midi drums from midi 36 through 60, but also have different drum sound mapped to pieces from 0 to 35 and 61 to 127. You could certain build kits that would respond to these mappings, especially with a BB2, but the midi tracks themselves would not be “drop in, ready to go” with any drum set currently sold by Singular for the BB.

There is, or was at one time, an EZ drummer mapped kit on the Forum that I found in my archives. The link is below.

Note that each EZ Drummer product has different mappings from the sound outside of the core 36 to 60 range. An excel spreadsheet is attached below, showing mappings for a number of products.

Just to add to Phil’s comment, there is a fantastic tool called MIDI Remap that you can use to remap MIDI drums. You could take the MIDI file and convert it to BeatBuddy format, so it’s definitely worth checking out. Once it’s in the correct format, you can easily import it to your SD card using BBMO. If you need help with that, feel free to email support@singularsound.com!

Thank you very much. I’m going to test it on the website.
