IOS app and midi Sysex messages

I have been fooling around with the IOS app to try and create a custom configuration that would switch effect pedals on an off on a multi-effects unit (a Roland GT-pro). This requires sending sysex messages from the MM. I notice that the IOS app only allows sending CC messages? Has anyone successfully programmed a custom mode for the MM with the IOS app that sends sysex messages?

We don’t have SysEx, RealTime, nor System Common MIDI messages in the MM. SysEx are not in plans right now – last time we looked through it we had to shelve the idea. But we didn’t check the other two, so I just submitted the lot for evaluation as a group. Thanks for pitching in!

I did a search for sysex on the forum but did not find the post you quoted. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

I must say that it seems to me a midi-controller is hardly a full featured midi-controller if it does not support sysex which is where all the power of midi lies… Lets hope our friends at Singular Sound eventually revisit this one.

In the meantime I will try to work with CC messages.
