Hi, I am a 69 year old has been with very little technical knowledge who bought a BB2 on the basis that it has an autopilot mode for ‘press once and forget’ use. Where I have been able to come across manuals (does anyone else wonder why they have to be in links embedded in other manuals instead of just in one place on the support page of the website?) I have printed them off and read them from cover to cover, omitting the bits that break the cardinal rule of manual writing - DON’T use fonts outside of the ones that come as standard with every PC because they will just show as gobbledegook, and they are just gibberish to me. Something simple like why do the song files on the SD card all have a file name ending in .BBS then when I want to pick one out and butcher it about a bit to suit my requirement I can’t because this online manager cannot see them and wants me to import files ending .SNG. The manual(s) would, frankly, benefit from a section that says ‘Here’s how you create a song from start to finish in these steps’, but as they were written by someone who is obviously a technical whizz kid and who doesn’t register the fact that there are people like me in the world, such luxuries are lacking. So, please someone, is there a simple tutorial somewhere online or on Youtube that I can read/watch that will take me through the basic first steps in putting a song, any song, I will worry about autopilot later, together?
From your post, it appears that you might be trying to work from the project on your SD card instead of from your computer
Don’t know if this is the manual you are referring to but you shouldn’t be seeing weird fonts: (click on the blue font text) Printer Friendly Manual. You might want to start from p18 and on p21 it will explain the difference between the file types such as .bbs and .sng files. Hint: don’t try to do anything with the .bbs files. Instead use the BeatBuddy Manager Online (BBMO 2) version to manage and build songs on your computer.
You will benefit from reading more about the BBMO starting on p52 of the BeatBuddy Manual. p55 will guide you on getting your project on your computer.
If you haven’t watched this yet, this video might help you get off on the right foot. https://youtu.be/fyhKi1xxSik It will give you the basics of operating the pedal.
If you’re still having problems reach out to Daniel at Support, support@singularsound.com and he will assist you.
From Facebook, Sean Donno has posted a link to an introductory video to the BBMO it will give you the basics. Just keep in mind that it’s for the version of the BBMO that supports the legacy BeatBuddy (BB)—not the the latest model and software.
