Looking for a simple "how to" add a groove monkee download to my bb manager

Hi everyone

I’ve just bought the groove monkee breakbeats package, can someone please give me a link to a video or a run through of how to load these onto my bb manager ?

I’ve extracted the zip file and thought i could just drag and drop this into the bb manager but alas i have failed…then i used the import tab on the bb manager to get them in and that failed…

many thanks

From the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM) menu

  • File - Import - Folder and navigate to Groove Monkee folder
  • Select the file with .pbf extension
  • Press Open

Beats and drum sets sold by Singular Sound (as well as Groove Monkee) usually include a set of installation instructions which you can find as a .pdf file.

Installation instructions are also in the contents of the BBM and BBMO user manuals.

Russ from Groove Monkee here. In case anyone needs help, here’s a quick overview and how to find the links to our instructions and videos.

Note: Since we provide files in multiple formats, our downloads are different.

General Tips

  1. All files are in the “Other MIDI Mappings” folder of your download.
  2. For Beat Buddy, look for the folder that ends with “BB” (e.g. “Blues Classics BB”).
  3. IF the product has a PBF file, it will be in the “PBF” folder.
  4. You can install our PBF files using Mac or PC.
  5. You can import multiple PBF files at once.

Installation Instructions

Each download has a file with a link to our “Installation and Support” page. That page has links to our Beat Buddy tutorials.

We have a post with instructions and video explaining how to import a project into the Beat Buddy manager.

We have a second post and video on how to import a PBF file.

Hopefully this helps but if anyone needs assistance, I answer email 7 days a week whenever possible. Please see our ‘Contact us’ page for options.

Hello - I also have the 2019 Complete collection and just bought the Groove Monkee Collection to go along with it. But I don’t know how to add the Groove Monkee to my existing project. My download was “Groove Monkee Collection - Digital Download (No SD Card),
Groove Monkee Collection.zip” and it does not have a PBF file, only a BBP. Can you help or point me in the right direction?

If you’re unable to load the Groove Monkee collection into your existing project, please feel free to email us at support@singularsound.com

As I reread your post, I think I see the issue.

The .bbp file is the key to your Groove Monkee content using the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM). To get this working using the BeatBuddy Manager (BBM):

  • From the BBM File - Open Project
  • Navigate to the folder containing the .bbp file;
  • Select the .bbp file
  • Press Open
  • Your Groove Monkee content should now open.

Using the BBMO is only slightly different

  • If you have a project open in the BBMO, close the project by pressing the X in the upper right corner next to Singular Sound
  • Press Open Project (beneath BBMO in the upper left)
  • Navigate to the folder that has the Groove Monkee .bbp file
  • With only the folder selected, you should see the .bbp file greyed out
  • Press the Select button in the bottom right of this folder window
  • Your Groove Monkee project should now open.

If you’re still having problems, contact Support, support@singularsound.com or please post some screen shots showing the contents of the folder with the .bbp file.

Thank you for the reply. The issue was that I wanted to combine 2 projects; The Complete 2019 and the Groove Monkee Complete. I believe I see that is not possible. So I ended up exporting the needed folders from the Groove Monkee Complete collection to separate PPB files and then imported them into the Complete 2019. A bit tedious but it accomplished my goal. Thanks again for the help!
