Hello @BrennanSingularSound & @BeatBuddy_Support
I have a BB2 which replaced a BB1 in October last … it is running the current OS 1.0.1 - I use 32GB Ultra Scandisk SD cards (which I already used with the BB1 before) … I experience on random songs loud pop/click noises (like a static pop noise) during playback - something I never experienced with the BB1 … I have 2 backup SD cards (32GB Ultra Scandisk) always with me … replacing the SD card that song which had the pop noise issue appears fine now - BUT sometimes another song might have the popping noise now … not sure if it is SD card problem … re-formatted multiple times already - which might work for a while but after syncing with BMMO it might be back … I creates many OPB’s using Cubase & listening back in the DAW - no noise issue - so it is not the DAW … as you can imagine - it is huge problem if this happens during a gig as did
… any advice much appreciated …
Cheers,
Wolf

Hi
I encountered this problem on BB1. I went so far as to open BB and check all the contacts
I found similar information about noise somewhere on the Internet and thought it was nonsense. But in the end, formatting the flash drive and uploading the project via BBMO helped. It is sad that the manufacturer still has not solved this problem.
Were you using the power supply that comes with your BeatBuddy (BB) pedal or a PSU from another maker?
Just my opinion but over the years of reading reports on the forum about pops and other noises, it seems that they could be tied to either use of PSUs other than Singular Sound’s or unclean power sources.

As mentioned by persist, please make sure that you are using the original power supply that came with the unit and check if the issue persists.
Additionally, could you please let us know if this happens with a specific song or with all songs? Please also let us know the exact steps we can follow to reproduce the issue. Does it happen with a specific drum set or a specific song/project?
You can send all the details here or directly to support@singularsound.com so we can look into this further. Thank you for reporting it.
It could also be something external in the signal chain, so could you please check if the pops still occur when lowering the BeatBuddy volume?
Thank you!
Hi @DanielSingularSound& @BeatBuddy_Support & support@singularsound.com
I’m using a VoodooLabs Pedalpower x4 on a pedalboard consisting of MidiMaestro Gold Edition & the BeatBuddy 2 … will be plenty of clean power (4 isolated 9V 500mA DC outputs = original BB power supply - I’m using 2 outputs only, i.e. the VoodooLabs Pedalpower x4 is dedicated to MM & BB2 only) … it did work perfectly fine with MM & BB1 for a couple of years beforehand … it is very random which song it affects … re-syncing the BB2 via BMMO eliminates the pop/click on the song, but seems to re-introduces it potentially (randomly & unpredictably) on another song … I have 2 backups of set lists with me & using another SD card synched at the same time doesn’t have the popping noise on the song from the “first” SD card - and it’s not a specific drum kit or specific song nor a specific project (I have only one) & occurs only while playing back the song …. very strange - had a couple of bad gig experiences where this happened the pops/clicks are as loud as the drum sound
We have received previous reports about issues related to Voodoo Labs power supplies. Could you please try using the original power supply that came with the BeatBuddy 2 and let us know if the issue persists?
If the issue continues while using the original power supply, please let us know how we can reproduce the problem (steps, settings, specific songs, firmware version etc.), and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
Thank you!
Has there been any change in your electrical appliences at home? Some devices when powering on like a refridgerator or fluorecent tube can cause pops on the home power net. Just a guess.
Cheers @DanielSingularSound, I will check with the original power supply … strange thing is that is very random & independent of location & songs - though if it is apparent in one specific song (typically after syncing with BMMO creating a new setlist or adding a new song) on the SD card & the noise will stay apparent on that song … using another “backup” SD card synced at the same time with the same BMMO content (I always have one extra SD card synched at the same time) won’t have the pop/click issue …. re-formatting & re-syncing usually does solve the issue only to appear with another BMMO synch … hope I’m making sense explaining
