I’m trying to use my Aeros as a master over the BB, with the Maestro as a midi controller in Custom Mode. I’ve been able to set it up so that the Maestro will start both the Aeros and BB simultaneously and to shift between parts without a problem. But when I try to stop both, the Aeros will stop but the BB continues. I’m wondering if anyone can help with the settings for the Aeros, and the CC and Value codes for the Maestro to allow it to stop both the Aeros and the BB at the same time. Or if you can give me any more general help or hints on how to get the three pedals to work together seamlessly. Thank you.
Be sure you have the good connections
Go to Aeros settings> Midi > Midi Out. And check if this is to “transmitter” to have Aeros as Master
Scroll down
Set “Midi Merge”
Transition “On”
Start “enable”
Stop " enable"
Start 1 recording “rec start” this start the Beatbuddy immediately when you hit the record switch (take car No intro on the BB for this
Midi Outro “Enable” if you want the Beatbuddy playing the outro at the last measure before the end of the loop
Now on the Maestro “Custom”
Command : CC43 Value 1 to start both and toggle this with CC43 Value O To stop both (the way it stop depend of the end settings on the aeros (eol, fade out etc…
Wow. Thanks so much for the detailed response! I will try this right now and let you know how it goes.
That worked perfectly. Thanks!
Hi Steve,
One other question. Right now, when I change parts, I need to hit the Change Part button (1 or 2, etc) that I’ve set up on the Maestro, and then hit the “play” button on the Aeros to lock in the change (at the end of the loop). I’m wondering if there is a way to eliminate the second step. That is, I want to both change the part and also lock in the change with one press on the Maestro.
Not sure if this is clear. But let me know what you think.
Thanks.
Tom
It’s not clear for me ?
You want to lock a track ? best is lock the track before you begin
No, I didn’t man lock in that way. Sorry.
When I change parts, the Aeros will choose the new part but it will remain on the old part until I hit the “play” button. Only after I do that will the part actually change (at the end of the loop). In other words, I take two pushes, one to choose the new part (on the Maestro) and one to actually change it (on the Aeros). I’m wondering if I could set up the Maestro so that one push on it will both choose the new part and initiate the change.
If you use Each parts on the Maestro
Than ;
Part 1 = CC 113 Value 101
Part 2 = CC 113 value 102
etc.
In this case the Aeros gonna change the part and play the transition of the Beatbuddy at the last measure
You can you use “next part” CC 113 value 127" with the cancel pending CC 113 value 125 (both on press)
In this case the Aeros gonna switch to the next part every time you press the switch
If this is what you mean !
Take care that the Beatbuddy follow the parts of the Aeros
If you you have 3 parts on Aeros and 2 on Beatbuddy The part 2 of the BB gonna stuck to this part
Yes.That’s exactly what I was asking about. So this is a huge help. I have figured that out about the Beatbuddy, so I know that I need to go back and add more parts to it when I have more than two on a specific song.
I can’t thank you enough for your help here. Thank you!
I’m glad to have helped you, now enjoy!
HI, Steve,
Since you seem to know a lot about this, I have another question.
Everything was working great, until I started using 6 x 6 mode. I’ve been trying to transfer all of my songs into it. But when I start the new song, the Aeros always seems to set the bpm at 120, no matter what I have on the BB. Things that I’ve recorded in 2 x 2 still work fine, matching the tempo of the Aeros to the BB. There must be some tempo setting that I have wrong, but I can’t figure out what it is. Something to do with tap tempo? I suppose I could set the Aeros tempo to the BB tempo manually, but I can’t figure out how to do that, given that I’ve always relied on the BB to set the tempos.
Anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.
Best,
Tom
You mean songs like backingtracks ?
use the freemode to see what happend !
Hi Steve,
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m still not sure what’s happening, but I did figure a workaround, by matching the Aeros tempo to the BB. Problem solved.
Best,
Tom
