I have a BeatBuddy that I sync with the BeatBuddy Manager. I just bought the a 10th Anniversary Device and I want it to be my primary device with the old one being the backup. What is the best way to have these devices be identical and continue to get updates to stay in sync? I want to ensure that I don’t screw up the BeatBuddy Manager as well, if I hook up a new device. I plan to have 3 devices in total that I can use on 2 boards and 1 backup device. Thank you.
I would recommend having 2 identical cards per device; one as primary and one as backup as well as one MIDI sync adapter per device along with one spare. Consider using 32Gb CLASS 10 SDHC cards. You can probably get by on fewer cards. Have spare TRS cables if you use remote foot switches.
To make the sync process faster, I suggest using the BBMO instead of the BBM.
Dedicate and keep the cards with each pedal; test each card to make sure they work with each pedal. Test your cards with each pedal before each gig.
I appreciate your input. I think my main question is whether I can have 1 BBM or BBMO project to sync all devices to the same project. I have never attempted using multiple devices and don’t want to screw up the project that I have now. Ideally I perform all the maintenance on my project and then transfer the same thing to all devices. Or, do I have to sync with 1 device/card and then copy the data to other cards? Good idea on the backup card. I don’t have one today. I have had no issues with my device or card and could go without the BeatBuddy if I needed to for a gig.
Yes, you can. I’m doing so now using the same BBMO project with several SD cards. Just make sure to plug your SD cards into your computer slot reader; avoid using the USB to pedal connection method.
