Midi keyboard with aeros looper

Hi!
I’m relatively new to MIDI (I’ve had my BeatBuddy for about 3 months) and brand new to looping.

Two questions:

  1. I would like to connect my electric piano (Casio Privia PX 770) into the aeros. It has a USB midi port. How do I get the midi out of the keyboard and into the aeros looper? I assume I need some sort of MIDI host/ preamp.
  2. Are there any recommended books or resources to learn the basics of MIDI?

Thank you!

Hey there,

If your keyboard has a USB MIDI port, you likely will need something in the middle, like a computer, to create a MIDI network of sorts so your keyboard can control the BeatBuddy. You could possibly try a USB to MIDI cable coming out of your keyboard into the BeatBuddy but I am not sure this will work.
If your keyboard has 5 pin midi outs, just connect the MIDI Out of the keyboard into the MIDI in port of the MIDI Sync Cable.

Our MIDI Maestro Manual has a very informative MIDI basics section
