Midi Maestro Midi Trouble

I have been rewiring my whole setup this weekend and added a midi maestro to control my Aeros. My guitar pedalboard is “downstream” from my maestro and Aeros, and I’ve been having trouble getting midi to flow past these two.

The midi maestro seems to be the issue.

I’ve debugged everything and my chain works fine when the maestro is not there (between a Morningstar mc8 and the Aeros). But I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is the case.

Complicating things even more…the maestro DOES seem to communicate with the Aeros ok, but no midi goes past the Aeros. I don’t think the Aeros is the issue since, again, everything works fine when I remove the Maestro but still have the Aeros in there.

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I think I found a work around. I moved the maestro and Aeros to the end of my midi chain so they don’t interfere with anything else. So, I think I am good, but, would still really appreciate any responses to the original issue, to learn for the future.
