Midi mute kick and snare possible?

It’s been a while since I’ve been in Beatbuddy world. I’m wondering if it’s possible to send a midi cc value to individual kick/snare/hihat etc to either mute or toggle volume level. On my Tr8s, I toggle CC 0 and CC 120 to drop kick and snare for dynamics.

Thank you for reaching out! I’ve answered your question via email — please check your inbox for the details.

Feel free to write an answer here and I am interested in this.

In general, no, it’s not possible to mute individual drum instruments like kick, snare, or hi-hat via MIDI CC on the BeatBuddy.

Could you send again? I’m not finding the email anywhere. (Not spam folder etc) Your answer below makes me think there’s more to it than just No.

Hey there,

No, this is not possible

Thank you for the question

Is it possible to mute drum parts on the Beatbuddy 2? This function would be absolutely amazing.

Yes, there are several ways to mute drum parts on the BeatBuddy 2. You can mute them using the BeatBuddy Manager Online by setting the velocity to 1. You can also connect an expression pedal to the BeatBuddy 2 to control the volume, which allows you to bring the volume down to 0 anytime.

thanks. It sounds like you can’t with an external controller…too bad….I think you’d sell an incredible amount of a ‘beat buddy 3’ that sounded like the 1 and 2 but was in a form factor like a Behringer RD78…I still love BeatBuddy…love it so much that I actually use it to replace the drums on a Yamaha PSR920sx….I’m just going to copy patterns I like 3 or 4 times and mute various parts as a work around as one thing on the beat buddy that doesn’t work for me are the fills…and muting some parts will add dynamics
