Harold Dorman, who is the songwriter, did this first, in 1960. Johnny Rivers covered it in 1964. Charley Pride did a version in 1982. This is based on the Johnny Rivers version.
Rivers and Dorman both did the song in E. Dorman’s is slower with a tempo at 116; Rivers is at 134. The Dorman version does not have a solo verse after verse 3.
