My Aeros won’t read my SD card

My Aeros is not recognizing my SD cards either.

  • The cards meet the right specs (32 GB, class 10, FAT 32)
  • I made sure it’s running the latest firmware (5.2.1) over wifi
  • I’ve tried inserting it before and after booting up.
  • When I go into SONGS, it’s grayed out and my only options below are BACK and INTERNAL.

What am I missing?

Please send an email to support@singularsound.com with the details, and I’ll help you sort this out.

Did you check the little slide on the side of the SDCARD ?

I made sure both of the cards I tried are unlocked, so that’s not it. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

I emailed support but haven’t heard back yet. I’ll try to remember to post the solution if we figure it out.

FIXED! I took the pedal apart and noticed that the SD card reader was sitting loosely on the PCB. I secured it against the board using electrical tape, and now it can read both SD cards just fine.

I imagine this is fairly common. When you insert an SD card, it hangs about 4 mm outside of the enclosure. It’d be all too easy to catch it on something and rip the reader out out of the PCB.

If anyone is having a similar issue (i.e., you know the card is correctly formatted but it’s still not being recognized), it’s worth taking a look inside, especially if you bought it secondhand like I did. It’s simple enough, 12 screws (the last one is hidden in the wheel area) and 7 hex nuts (around the ¼" jacks).
